ActionClip adds a contextual action menu to text selections across all macOS applications. When text is selected, a floating panel appears with relevant actions based on the selected content—no keyboard shortcuts or menu navigation required.
The app ships with 40 built-in actions covering common operations: copy, translate, convert text formats, run AI queries, count characters and words, and more. Smart suggestions surface contextually appropriate actions based on what is selected. The action panel supports three UI styles: ActionClip, iOS Edit Menu, and Native Menu.
Actions are customizable: users can pin frequent actions, disable unused ones, reorder the list, and group related actions together. Custom actions extend the system with JavaScript snippets, AI prompts, terminal commands, AppleScript, or URL schemes.
AI integration supports multiple providers including Apple Intelligence (on-device), OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and Ollama. The application is native Swift under 20 MB and requires Accessibility permission.
